Facebook and Education... A New Partnership?

I think the university faculty is being unfair. Chris Avenir was just making a study group to help other student with their work, its not cheating, it's more like tutoring. but the only difference is that he made it on Facebook.

I think that the student is in the right, his intentions are only good, hes trying to help others. but i understand a bit why the university doesn't want this because it can go a bit too far and students that join the facebook group may not have the same intentions as Chris, they might just want answers to do their work so it is like cheating. But the university shouldn't have gone so far as to think of Expelling him.

I see facebook as only a social utility network, but i don't mind if people want to make groups like that but i onluy think that if they want to share or help someone with homework they shouldn't do it over facebook maybe they should contact somewhere more private like maybe on MSN or Yahoo messenger, or maybe through the telephone, of course though, you have to be sure you know the person because giving your personal information to a complete stranger can be dangerous.

Pirating, Me Maties!

Pirating has grown alot, and is being done everywhere. I think that alot of programs like LimeWire, Ares, and Napster are in probably everyones computers using it to download songs, games, movies, and more. Also, alot of stores are selling alot of bootleg items and that it is breaking the law, even though there is a warning in the beginning of each videos, people still do it. There is a possibility that you can get caught and can be charged for having bootlegs.

I cannot lie, I am guilty, i do download songs off of filesharing programs, but i know I am not the only one who does it. and i know that Pirating has its impacts of some major companies, usually the companies that are in the media business, since people are downloading more and more the companies are not getting any profits from their products. So i wouldn't want to be in that business right now, even though alot of celebrities and other people are still getting money but they have to find it through other ways like making clothes or perfume lines or something like that.

So, i think that pirating isn't really right, maybe i should stop, and instead go out and start buying CDs again from Music stores, that'll take alot of sacrifice for me, i would have to actually go out of the comfort of my own home and earn more money to get the latest songs in artist CDs, or DVDs.

Prepare to be amazed: When Graphic artists get bored!

Wow that was really cool!
I thought the picture of the kiwi mouse thing was cool, i thought it was adorable, but kinda freaky at the same time, because it is sliced up and its innards are kiwi. I also thought the picture of the orange frog and cauliflower sheep was cool, it is kind of alike with the kiwi mouse, it's really cool that this artists thought of putting together an animal and a food item.

I think that the artist achieved these pictures by being very creative, they probably wanted to create a photo by combining two totally opposite items, and when they chose the items they combined it in a way that it would make sense and not just something that was just put together, they made it flow together, and kind of like an oxymoron.

I thought it was really well done, and I would love to watch more videos like this one.
they really do think out of the box, and it produces very interesting and really cool photos.

Are you a Right Clicka or an iBook Flippa?

Mac and PC has caused a lot of stir. With PC coming out with Microsoft Vista and Mac coming out with more “iHype” products like the new iPod nano, MacBook air and their commercials with the Mac and Pc guys. I personally like PC but not because I think it's better, I like it because it is the one that I am used to. I’ve been using it since Microsoft Windows 98 up to now with their Vista.

I think that Mac and PC are totally different from each other, while PC is for more office like and Mac is more media type. What I like about the Mac is that all their products and programs go along together without the need to install different programs onto your computer like the PC because its all made from the same company Apple and the PC’s programs are from all different companies that it is sometimes hard to install, but the Apple products are pretty pricey as opposed to PC is much more affordable, and has helpful programs to write school homework, keep records, type out documents, type out resume etc.

I would rather use a PC, even though it may not seem as cool as a MacBook i think it is more versatile, and it isn't as exspensive.

WALKING THE TALK.

If everyone live like me, we would need 3.7 planets..Whoa, 3.7 planets, we barely have one planet to live in.I realize that we take more for granted than i thought, and learning that we only have ten years to reduce green house gas emissions, Polar bears drowning because Ice is melting in their habitats, and taking water for granted, recently learned that a state in the US had an awful draught, i really think we should be doing so much more. I have seen commercials about these like FLICK OFF, but i never took them seriously, and always thought that there would always be much more of energy, but now I'm hearing more on the news and i am coming to realize that we won't have so much more, our planet cannot keep up with our useless needs and wants.

77% of Canadians are convinced that global warming is real, and that half of us believe that we will begin to see the effects in our life time, 30% of us want our government to pay as much attention to climate change as they do with health. Still so much of us are still not doing anything about it and waiting for the catastrophe to strike!
Did you know that faucets spout 7 - 11 litres of water in a minute? think about it, that's almost like 6 jugs of those 2 litre pop bottle, a lot eh?

We need to make choices and very hard decisions, the smallest movement will even make a very big impact on how we live, we can start with our daily routines, think about it real hard, everyday what do we do? is there something what we do very useless, like for instance taking hour long bathes, leaving the lights on when you leave a room, letting the water run while your brushing your teeth, do you actually separate your trash for recyclables.

This interactive website was very helpful, it made me realize a lot just by telling me how much planets we'd be needing if no one really did anything about it, but we really cant just have another planet. God gave us earth to live in and now we are taking it for advantage and its dying throughout the time since its been here our generation is not caring enough for the world always thing about Our wants, and never minding about our limits.

"Halo 3" be thy name.

In my opinion, I think movies are more entertaining, because I am not really much of a gamer. I have tried to play video games before, but i was seriously lost, I didn't know where to go or what to do, so I wasn't really into it.

I would probably find video games more entertaining than movies if I knew how to work it. Another reason i would find video games more entertaining is the interaction with the game, when you control the player, its like You playing in a fantasy or virtual world and you would be able to do things that you would never be able to do in the real world. That's what i really like about it. But i know that sometimes some people get into the games way too much and almost get Addicted.

It was really surprising about the people who bought Halo 3 games, I heard on the news, that people were lining up in front of stores during midnight just to get the firsts halo 3's that are out.
I think Video games are too expensive, buying the game console already cost more than $100 then you also have to buy the games which are almost around $50 each and as soon as you finish the game, you're likely not to play it again. While i think just watching a movie at the theatres is less than $10 for one ticket, and when you buy the DVDs its $25 and you can watch it how many times you like.

HI.... :)
