I think the university faculty is being unfair. Chris Avenir was just making a study group to help other student with their work, its not cheating, it's more like tutoring. but the only difference is that he made it on Facebook.
I think that the student is in the right, his intentions are only good, hes trying to help others. but i understand a bit why the university doesn't want this because it can go a bit too far and students that join the facebook group may not have the same intentions as Chris, they might just want answers to do their work so it is like cheating. But the university shouldn't have gone so far as to think of Expelling him.
I see facebook as only a social utility network, but i don't mind if people want to make groups like that but i onluy think that if they want to share or help someone with homework they shouldn't do it over facebook maybe they should contact somewhere more private like maybe on MSN or Yahoo messenger, or maybe through the telephone, of course though, you have to be sure you know the person because giving your personal information to a complete stranger can be dangerous.

I agree with you 100% on this one because Chris Avenir's intentions were good and he truly didn't create the group just because he wanted to cheat or whatever other reasons the university gave. Also you made me remember that not everyone's intensions are the same as Chris' which might have been one of the factors that caused the unversity to create this whole debate in the first place.
